Out with the pets
Based in the heart of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, I trained at Derby College of Art and for many years ran my own design consultancy before returning to my first loves, animals and drawing them.
Although I produce portraits of animal wildlife and a small range of limited edition prints, the majority of my work is pastel animal portraits by commission.
I take my own photographs, but in exceptional circumstances I work with your photographs (e.g. if the animal is no longer alive), providing I can see enough detail.
Portraits by Commission - How it works :-
* Contact me, let me know your requirements.
* I will travel to your house, stable, field etc.
* I will spend a little time with you and your animals , getting to know you both.
* I then take a range of photographs for my reference
* I then go away and produce several rough line sketches which I post to you, so we can discuss your pose preference.
* I then start the portrait
* On completion the portrait is delivered mounted but not framed (framing can be arranged separately).
